Combining His Power With Our Faith

Recently I had two instances where I was made to believe that some things I wanted to happen were either out of the range of possibility or would be quite a long time before they could come to fruition. Although I was getting encouragement from family and friends from time to time, the enemy’s voice was speaking just the opposite loud and clear!  God Himself had to show me in His unique way that I was stalled in fear and the perception of lack!  One of the projects I was endeavoring to accomplish required a certain amount of money in order to bring it to completion.

After seven months of the project being in a “holding pattern”, the Lord revealed to me that the figure I had in my mind that was necessary to complete the project was 3 times more than what I actually needed.  When God connected me with the individual that would eventually unveil this revelation I immediately saw what the enemy had been up to.  It is startling to see how your own thinking can become so confused and misconstrued, that the enemy will even make you concoct something that is not factual, that is not real, that is a LIE!  This is all because he doesn’t want you to succeed.

I have been referred to, introduced as, and commonly operate in the role described as “life coach”.  You would think that I wouldn’t fall into the enemy’s trap like I described above.  But it’s easier than you think.  I was reading several verses /chapters in the book of Joshua and discovered something I had not previously noticed.  Joshua was chosen to be Moses’ successor and lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land. God had made a covenant with the Israelites to give them the Promised Land.

In my study it was eye-opening to note in three verses, but different chapters namely Joshua 1: 9, Joshua 8: 1, Joshua 10: 25 the words spoken to Joshua and also the Israelites.  “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”  God wanted to emphasize this in their minds by repeating virtually the same words three times, “fear not, neither be dismayed, be strong and of good courage”.  What occurred to me in no uncertain terms is that what God has for us, and the work He has for us to accomplish is not going to come without opposition and even seeds of doubt and discouragement.  But because of His covenant which encompasses His promises, the work is already done, we just have to persist and then possess!

All of our human energy in the flesh whether it is exerted mentally or physically, is incapable alone of manifesting God’s plans and promises for us.  It is only the power of His Holy Spirit coupled with our faith that will ultimately bring to pass what God has ordained.
